The Operation of Gages and Switches in Hazardous Environments
In many industrial processes, the materials and the end product or by-products of the process, such as dust or vapors, can create conditions for a hazardous environment. Processes that have potential for hazardous environments include: water treatment, oil drilling, gas and chemical processing, power generation, pharmaceutical, and food manufacturing. The measurement and control of these processes are essential in maintaining optimal conditions of the manufacturing system and preventing catastrophic events. A Dwyer Guide to the Digital Catalog
In this age of virtual meetings and online connections, to “Google” something has become synonymous with quickly looking up information. For some, bookshelves are more for decor than they are functional, and trends are leading to becoming more environmentally-friendly and saving paper. Print media is not necessarily “dead,” but it is becoming much less prevalent as we journey forward in this digital age.
When speaking on digital resources, we have to take this chance to talk about some of the benefits that our digital catalog can offer. Available on both desktop (via our website) and mobile (via the app), the digital catalog allows you instantaneous access to application guides, selection guides, and product specifications. Product Highlight: Hi-Flow™ Control Valves
Hi-Flow™ control valves are single seated, top or cage guided globe valves – probably the simplest, from a construction standpoint, yet most versatile control valve in use. The Hi-Flow™ valve can fit applications with a smaller size valve since the valve has a greater flow capacity than most conventional valves of the same size. Coupled with a high flow capacity, the Hi-Flow™ valve maintains a wide rangeability of 50:1 to ensure precise control. Continue reading “Product Highlight: Hi-Flow™ Control Valves”
Pressure Transmitters Used for Pump Skids
We recently met with Aaron, a customer working on a project in West Virginia who needed to replace pressure transmitters on water transfer pump skids.
The transmitters had been installed on the discharge line, and were outside exposed to the elements. The transmitters had plastic connectors which had a tendency to degrade over time due to the wind, rain, and sun, leading to premature failure. Without functioning pressure transmitters, the pump skids themselves would shut down and limit water transfer operations. Continue reading “Pressure Transmitters Used for Pump Skids”
